Overview / Responsibilities
Wood has an immediate need for anintermediate Electrical Engineer in our Salt Lake City location. This position provides engineering and corresponding designs for electrical, instrumentation and control circuits or systems for industrial facilities. Also participates in developing drawings and other documents to support the electrical designs of himself/herself and others.
Key responsibilities: Perform electrical studies and calculations including, but not limited to, load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash, protection sizing and coordination, motor starting, harmonics and equipment selection using SKM and/or ETAP Complete the electrical engineering and designs on time and within budget while coordinating with the Project Manager Create new or modify existing electrical, instrumentation and control systems drawings when required Check drawings and documents of others Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Electrical and Instrument Engineering Manager
Skills / Qualifications Bachelors (BSEE) degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university or equivalent Minimum of five years of electrical engineering experience on heavy industrial projects Experience and working knowledge with the National Electric Code (NEC) Knowledge of or experience with MS Office products e.g as Word and Excel Familiarity with motor controls, lighting (including LED), grounding, instruments, control systems, communications and related entities in high-, medium- and/or low-voltage situations Solid understanding of SKM or ETAP electrical evaluation software. Knowledge or of experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD electric Experience with other industry accepted electrical evaluation software is desirable. Knowledge of and experience with DCS, PLC and/or HMI programming is desirable
