POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the U.S. Senior Package Engineering position is the structural design, development and testing of primary and secondary packaging for products produced at a Contract Manufacturer for distribution in the U.S. market. The Engineering associate is responsible for developing packaging structures for product redesigns, bonus packs, and similarly complex projects. The Packaging Services team is responsible for managing changes in packaging and labeling in a compliant manner consistent with company directives and industry regulations to fully support the supply of products distributed in the U.S. market.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops primary and secondary packaging structures in support of broader project directives. Is responsible for creating all component specifications and finished good Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the Product Lifecycle Change Management System.
2. Contributes to cross-functional project teams and the change management process via review and approval of component drawings specifications, component testing / qualification. Assists with line trials of new components as needed. Oversees package testing (ship tests). Works independently, seeking guidance as needed.
3. Supports external manufacturing sites as required in package changes as dictated by
regulations, manufacturer s needs, or project team s direction.
4. Responsible for all package engineering milestones on project timelines for projects assigned. This requires the utilization of key processes and tools (PLM, pallet pattern software, barcode verification, and other activities as covered in relevant SOPs, User Guides)
5. Efficiently integrates Package Engineering project tasks with U.S. Packaging Services
processes such as change management and graphics development, to ensure timely delivery vs. objectives. Utilizes best practices and contributes to and leads process improvements.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES Education Requirement(s):
A 4 year Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 6 years packaging engineering
experience in a regulated environment, preferably pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products or an advanced technical degree with a minimum of 4 years.
