Role Value Proposition: MetLife Investment Management (MIM) was launched in 2012 to capitalize on our strong investment management performance for our General Account. Over the past year, we have worked to evolve our departmental structure through building organic capabilities and pursuing attractive external opportunities. In 2018, we announced a reorganization into two groups: 1) a new organization named Affiliated Insurance Company Investment Management (AIC IM), responsible for managing MetLife's Investment portfolio, and 2) MIM, MetLife's institutional fixed income and real estate asset management business. The Associate Director role is part of the AIC IM team and is responsible for overseeing the management of the Property & Casualty (P&C) and Group Benefits enforce investment portfolios and leading the AIC's participation in the ALM governance process for these segments. The Associate Director will partner closely with representatives from the P&C and Group Benefits businesses to maximize margins within risk constraints and identify / address risks to P&C and Group Benefits line of business profitability. Key Responsibilities: Conduct quantitative analysis to support line of business profitability initiatives. Review and evaluate asset vs. liability curve profile, duration positioning, asset class overweight's/underweights vs. targets for P&C and Group Benefits portfolios Monitor and thoroughly understand P&C and Group Benefits margin projections, margin exposures, profitability trends, and propose mitigating solutions Develop, present, and obtain ALM Committee approval for P&C and Group Benefits investment guidelines Lead AIC participation for P&C and Group Benefits portfolios within ALM governance process - lead discussions, perform portfolio analysis, and set Working Group priorities / agendas Based on quantitative analysis, propose and oversee progress of any strategic shifts in asset allocation Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships and work in a team environment Excellent communication and prioritization skills Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, less structured environment Strong quantitative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel 5 to 10 years work experience in financial services industry Preferred: MBA or CFA preferred Strong quantitative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience using BlackRock/ Aladdin and Bloomberg systems Asset-liability management experienceSalary Range: NAMinimum Qualification5 - 7 years
