The KDP 2020 Summer Intern Program will run from June 1, 2020 – August 7, 2020 and this position will be based in our Des Moines, IA Plant. Elements of the KDP 2020 Summer Intern Program include:

  • You will engage and partner on innovative projects to gain experience in a fast paced, cross functional team environment
  • You will receive mentor support for your professional development
  • You will present a final presentation to your team, peers, and senior leaders to highlight your project work and impact on the business
  • You will network and learn about other functions at Keurig Dr Pepper through a Lunch & Learn series
  • You will have the opportunity to volunteer in the community
  • As a Sales Intern, you’ll develop the specialized skills you need to pursue a sales career at our industry-leading company. Under the guidance of our team, you’ll build prospecting and product knowledge that you can use to forge and develop client relationships. You will help support distributor sales meetings and rallies, build and participate in retail presentations, learn and assist in sales calls, and conduct retail store visits.

    As a Sales/Marketing Intern you will be responsible for the following:

  • Analysis Responsible for on-going analysis supporting sales initiativesUse brand, industry and customer information resources to identify business issues and opportunities and to develop strategic recommendations to achieve sales goalsProvide timely and comprehensive analysis of objectives, execution, and future planning implicationsDevelop implications recommendations for management
  • Project Management Lead and manage designated sales initiativesDevelop objectives, spearhead programs across multiple groups, develop and communicate all distributor and field sales materials
  • Customer Expert Develop the ability to build relationships with customers at varying levels of seniorityUtilize customer insights and translate them into actionable sales plansUnderstand and communicate KDP’s unique selling propositions to key stakeholders - internal KDP departments, field sales, distributors, and retailer
  • Business Planning and Budgeting Assist in development of joint business planning including: sales strategy, creative, local program development and national sales meeting and bottler meeting presentationsOwn and actively manage budgets, cross- functional alignment, and end-of-year budget performanceCoordinate with finance to research and adjust inappropriate budget entries
  • System Communication Communicate with the field, distributors, and retailers to secure market approach, manage in-market activities, research/report on local market conditions and implement programs
  • Special Projects Manage special projects as needed
  • Requirements

    What you must have:

  • Undergraduate students working towards a Bachelor's degree in their junior or senior year of study with an interest in a career in sales
  • Consumer research experience on the manufacture/client side a plus.
  • Consumer packaged goods, beverage experience a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and project management skills
  • Strong computer skills with excel and power point
  • Ability to multi-task in a cross functional environment
  • Knowledgeable in the use of syndicated marketing research databases (e.g. IRI, Nielsen, and household panel, MRI, SIP) a plus
  • Drive to have an impact – with results orientation
