The Product Marketing Manager is part of a team responsible for driving the success of our phaco emulsification platform, along with launching a new first-to-market cloud-based technology within the surgical environment. This role is responsible for developing marketing programs and tools that drive adoption and utilization of the technology. This individual will establish strong relationships with external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), as well as internal Bausch+Lomb stakeholders such as R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, Training, Legal, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs. Work closely with R&D, Sales, Medical Affairs, Manufacturing, and other functions to develop product roadmap, drive implementation of marketing plans, work with KOLs and Medical Affairs on clinical studies, provide sales and customer support collateral to facilitate the customer buying process and drive utilization. Disseminate relevant clinical data and generate messages and marketing materials based on clinical evidence and insights. Develop product positioning and messaging that communicates the differentiated capability of this new technology in a highly-competitive marketplace. Develop physician and hospital segmentations and target customer profiles to guide sales and contribute to marketing communication efforts. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of phaco emulsification platforms and cloud-based connected OR environments, trends, and competitive dynamics to contribute to marketing and sales strategies. Plan and execute marketing presence and activities at relevant tradeshows, courses and symposia. Engage and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders through site-visits, attendance at courses/conferences and onsite summits, roundtable, and ad boards to understand product usage and product requirements to provide actionable feedback/direction for the R&D team. Partner with Sales Training to train sales force on technology value proposition and messaging, clinical applications, physician targeting, competitive technologies, and objection handling. Present business results to internal company leadership and sales management. Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of new product launches to meet or exceed sales and margin expectations. Campaign management of assigned products, including development of promotional and campaign materials, ad copy, ads, product brochures, sales aids, multimedia materials, technical articles, trade show demonstrations and promotional events.
Core Competencies, Skills and Experience Requirements: 5-8 years of medical device marketing or product management experience, with a minimum of 4 years within healthcare. Must have familiarity with cloud-based technologies, technically savvy, and ability to drive product roadmap for connected, mobile environments. Experience defining and delivering on a product road-map. Demonstrated success partnering closely with sales and training teams to drive customer acquisition and product adoption. Demonstrated success leading project teams, defining/creating product roadmaps and managing on-time delivery of new innovations. Strong hands-on data manipulation and analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to use data to develop marketing insights and drive decision making. Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior management and customers. Self-starter with ability to take leadership in unstructured environment. Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Ability to travel 25%. Some international travel may be required. Bachelors degree required.
